Four Activities You Must Experience In Japan

Becoming a Geisha
There are many places in Japan where you can get this experience but I personally went to the "Maiko and Geisha experience" in Aya Kyoto Japan
It was hands down the best activity I've ever done. We got our makeup done, they dressed us, took professional photos, and gave us an hour to go around the streets of Kyoto to take pictures.
I didn't have the chance to see a tournament. It is top of my list the next time I go. I highly suggest you see them though. The sport has been around for centuries and is really a sight to see. The only thing is that tournaments are only certain months: January, March, May, July, September, November. Plan accordingly!
Matcha has become such a craze in the U.S, but it originated in Japan. Matcha is used during a tea ceremony and served with wagashi. It has also become an art to prepare the tea. However, the green tea isn't the way we drink it. It is in its original form, which means it's SUPER bitter.
Steps: Place two scoops of match in your bowl, pour hot water into the bowl and use your whisk until there is foam. Turn the bowl clockwise and take three sips to finish your tea.
Like sweets? Like making your own sweets? Wagashi is a sweet that the Japanese have turned into an art. They are usually served with tea. You can go to certain places around Japan to learn the art of these confections.
